Saipem has been awarded two contracts for offshore activities in Ivory Coast and Italy for a total amount of around 850 million euros ($909.2 million), the Italian oil-and-gas engineering company said Friday.

The contract in Ivory Coast, awarded by Eni and its partner Petroci, is for the second phase of offshore oil-and-gas project Baleine and involves engineering, procurement, construction and installation work, Saipem said. Installation is expected to take place in 2024, it said.

The second contract comprises engineering, procurement, construction and installation work for a new offshore floating storage and regasification unit in Italy, a project awarded by Italy's gas-grid operator Snam in which Saipem will work together with Rosetti Marino and Micoperi, Saipem said.

The facility will enable Italy to increase its liquefied natural gas import capacity, while improving the country's energy security thanks to the diversification of gas sources, the company said.
